The lesson that this chapter teaches is a continuation from chapter one about victimization and the victim cycle. The chapter goes into detail about the line between victimization and accountability and how even the strongest commitment to accountability may not keep you from falling below the line. This happens to many people and the only way to get above the line once again is to first recognize that you are acting in a below the line mentality, develop a see it attitude which will then begin you on the path above the line and towards accountability.
The reason people often remain in the victim cycle is because they find comfort in being below the line. These people don’t feel the need to embrace accountability for their actions but rather justify them with excuses. The fact is that unless victims take control of their own futures’, they will never accomplish anything.
